Alice made sure to quickly welcome us and take care of our party of 8. I felt as though I just ordered my food and it was already being served to me. My family and I always come here because not only is the food great, the staff is amazing. Even though it was truly busy, there was never a moment that we had to wait. Alice not only helped us, she greeted everyone else and took care of everyone else's needs. We will definitely be back again.

This is our local Japanese restaurant and it's good. Not top tier, but wide variety of options -- including some vegan. My wife usually gets a tofu bowl and I have been getting nigiri and kama. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, and good quality. We'll be back!

My favorite sushi place in La Jolla/near UCSD area. I get sushi from here like once a week since I live down the street. It is a little more expensive (but I still think reasonable) compared to other places but the quality is so much better. I highly recommend Kinoyume to my friends. I've been doing take out more often than dinning in but service has always been great when I have. Workers are polite, respectful and attentive. I have always been acknowledged when walking in which is important to me. I don't mind waiting, just let me know you see me and you'll get to me. Waiting is always minimal (dinning in + take out). Parking availability is going to highly depend on the business of LJV.

I placed my order for takeout to eat at my hotel. SO DELICIOUS!!!! I'm glad my hotel was walking distance because that parking lot was crowded during the dinner rush. I ordered the chirasu don... fish tasted fresh. I was not expecting so many pieces of fish! My miso soup was still hot when I got back to my hotel. 13 min walk. Because I ordered takeout, I can't really comment on their service or how it is to sit at the restaurant. I'd definitely order takeout with then again!

My friends and I love this restaurant. Their rolls are fresh and delicious. The environment is clean, and the location next to Whole Foods offers convenient parking, especially during dinner. Lunchtime parking, however, can be more challenging

A celiac friendly sushi place is my DREAM! Sushi became a thing of the past when I was diagnosed with celiac in 2015, and I had just really accepted that poke bowls were the only way to get sushi. My husband found this place and I am overjoyed. The staff was very knowledgeable about their gluten free ingredients and what can and cannot be made gluten free, and were willing to substitute ingredients to make rolls gluten free. The menu was well labeled as well to make ordering easier. You do need to bring your own gluten free soy sauce for dipping. We went for my bday party and they let us sit for two hours and bring in our own cake and the staff was very nice. I enjoyed many rolls and never got cross contact. I cannot wait to come back and try this place again and am so glad sushi is an option for me!

This place is great! It's clean and I like their decor. They also have a varied menu ranging from salads to soups to sushi. I've tried their ramen, sushi, mango avocado salad, and pork belly skewers and have no complaints, everything tasted really good and very fresh. It does get a bit crowded around dinner time and although we haven't had to wait a long time to be seated, service can be a little bit slow with plates coming out at different times for the same party. This place is located inside the La Jolla Village plaza next to the CVS so there's plenty of free parking. Would recommend!

I went for the Supreme Combo which includes 8 pieces of nigiri (tuna, yellow, salmon, albacore, escolar, shrimp, eel, and egg. It also came with a house salad and a miso soup. I thought it was decently priced considering the area and its sushi, and the service was super fast. I also appreciated that when I first ordered I asked for miso soup, and my server pointed out that the combo would come with it (which I had initially missed). The ambiance is casual. I didn't try any of the rolls, but my friend ordered them and enjoyed them. I would happily return and try more, and the parking lot was busy but not a problem.
